It all began when Utsav commented on a tweet about Indian men causing a scene on a cruise ship. Mahima Kukreja pointed out his hypocrisy over claiming to be a 'woke' Indian man while sending unsolicited dick pics to strangers/fans on social media.
But what used to be seen as a quest for masculine validation has now become something else. This primal impulse now has the male population believing the dick pic is a genuine form of courtship. A survey by Match.com revealed that 53 per cent of women have received a dick pic and that 47 per cent of men have admitted to sending one.
For their study, researchers analysed answers from 1,087 men who completed an online survey which included a demographic questionnaire covering everything from measures of narcissism, sexism, the motivations behind sending unsolicited dick picks, and the reactions they hoped to elicit from recipients.
With this later case however, it seems that unsolicited dick pics are often welcome for gay men using dating apps like Grindr, who reported positive reactions to the unsolicited images. For women however, the response was not positive and often saw them feeling shame, anger and disgust.
When you consider that a majority of men will send dick pics to multiple respondents, researchers believed this to be a strategic motivation in the sense that with a wider pool of recipients, the chances of someone responding favourably increases. And of course, the investment from the male is minimal at best.
For unsolicited dick pics though, the motivations are slightly different. Men who have exhibitionist tendencies tend to be aroused by the prospect of women being coerced into seeing their genitals (really, fellas?). Other reasons include the sense of pride in knowing their penis is able to generate such strong reactions, fetishes regarding insults to the size or appearance of their genitals, and arousal to reactions of disgust. 2ff7e9595c
